Perhaps, you are a person who gets asked these questions often. Or maybe you are always punctual and while waiting for others; you do the asking. I started thinking about how JESUS sees us while He is waiting for us to get ready. We are reminded in several passages from The Holy Bible to "be ready." What does getting ready mean for humanity? Do we spend so much time preparing for events that never happen that we lose sight of what really matters for preparation of ourselves to be joined with JESUS CHRIST?
"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." [Matthew 24:44]
So often, we are unprepared for the unexpected, despite our efforts to stay ready for whatever may come our way. No matter how hard we try to prepare for those things that we cannot predict; one thing is certain for believers in JESUS, we know that He is going to return. However, no one knows when He will come back, but we should take care not to dismiss the reality that one day each of us will see Him. I pray that we will all be ready when JESUS appears and not be like the "five foolish virgins" who were locked out because they did not adequately prepare for the wait of the bridegroom's arrival.
"And when they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut." [Matthew 25:10]
We may not be given the opportunity to get ready for everything that occurs in life, but we should not delay getting ready for The LORD's return because the warning signs are everywhere. If you are reading this blog and have not accepted JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR, what are you waiting for? Some people think that they will have time and that they will wait for the evidence first to see if JESUS is real, or for others, they base their outcome on "being a good person" in hopes that they will be alright. This way of thinking is risky because waiting has no guarantees and we cannot earn our way into heaven by deeds.
"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus..." [Romans 3:24]
I encourage you to read the following for reflection: Zechariah: Chapters 13 & 14; Matthew: Chapters 24 & 25; Romans: Chapters 3 through 6. May you have a Blessed week and remember to prepare yourselves for the final journey.
"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." [Revelation 22:17]
