Hold On: Don’t Let Go!

The challenge for all of us is Holding on and not letting go. When the pressure is on; where do we turn? We must look to the hills to where our help comes from and his name is JESUS. Our nation and the world is in jeopardy as divisions spread throughout; therefore, understanding our responsibility as Christians is imperative. The enemy's goal is to create an atmosphere for humanity to fall. "And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand." [Mark 3:24 - The Holy Bible King James Version]. When we acknowledge the truth that the war we are facing is spiritual and not each other; then perhaps collectively, we will be able to overcome many of the obstacles we are experiencing.

I envision a game that was played a few times during my youth: "A tug-of-war" that resulted in "one team pulling the other across the line" that would bring them from their side onto the other team's side. As one team gains strength more than the other, the momentum breaks down and becomes unbalanced causing one team to lose its grip by forcing them to relinquish the rope. Some of them fall down, but inevitably, they are pulled to the other side no matter how much they resist. Presently, our entire world is out of balance and we are being pulled in different directions. Remember, that satan's job is to divide and conquer. Therefore, reasonable thinking people become shewed in thoughts and may decide easier to go onto the other side that appears to be winning. The enemy is full of deception and we are living in an age when "right is wrong and wrong is right." We are watching our democracy fall before our eyes with laws ("And he shall speak great words against the most High and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time." Daniel 7:25 - The Holy Bible: King James Version) being changed that will cripple the nation and the very essence of what we were built upon: "GOD" This tugging has been going on for decades and there has been a gradual shifting that has come upon people in unawares. We must pull harder and tighten our grip onto JESUS and do not let go because the enemy is waiting on the other side to devour us. Remember that "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds..." [2 Corinithians 10:4] These are times like never before that we must exercise our rights as citizens to keep our freedom intact that requires a strong faith walk and belief in JESUS despite the cost to us personally. "So don't worry about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply." [Luke 21:14-15 - The Open Bible: New Living Translation].

Consider these for what we must hold onto:

  • The Name of JESUS

  • Our Faith, Hope, and Values

  • The Promises made from The LORD that are found throughout The HOLY BIBLE.

  • The Truth about Salvation

  • Reminders of when The LORD brought us out of life changing situations previously; we became overcomers and survived the attacks from the enemy.

Additional Scriptures recommended for your reading this week: Psalm 68; Daniel 3 (all); I John 2 (all); and Jude.

May you have a Blessed Week while holding on and staying on the only side that is our life support: The Side of JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD AND SAVIOR! I leave you with this scripture for reflection and encouragement.

"And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my Father's hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." [John 10:28-29]
