PRAYING FOR HEALING AND STRENGTH

As we continue into another chapter of uncertainty of what is happening with COVID-19 in America and when the individual states will re-open, anxiety is rising. Despite the attempts to find creative ways to operate daily within the confines of homes and limited access to the things we enjoy, the only way to find total relief is to "pray without ceasing." [I Thessalonians 5:17]. We must hold onto The Lord's Prayer as sustenance to give us hope daily, to forgive ourselves and others, and to be delivered from evil. [Matthew 6:9-13] "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." This model prayer reminds us that Our Father in Heaven holds the key to each day that we wake up and He has the power to see us through the day.

May we remain prayerful and watchful for everyone in the world, remembering children and how they are feeling (help them by explaining in ways they can understand), health care workers in all levels from doctors to home care providers, all first responders, the President of The United States, federal, state, and local government officials, nursing home facilities and hospitals (patients and staff), law enforcement personnel, prison systems (inmates, officers, and staff), juvenile facilities (youth and staff), those who provide food (growers, truck drivers who deliver, and supermarket personnel), drugstores, drive through workers, postal workers, transit operators, struggling business owners, clergy, and of course we always pray for our loved ones and friends. There are so many to pray for and much to pray about to bring us healing, strength to endure daily changes as society copes with the pandemic. When we find time to join together in unison and fellowship for prayer even when not in the same place together; there is always power in prayer. Trust The LORD in all things and believe that when situations look hopeless to man, the possibilities for hope are endless with Our Savior. Hold onto the promise and find something enjoyable to do and make sure that you do not lose your humor. Although what we are facing is no laughing matter, but there is always joy because Nehemiah 8:10 tells us "...for the joy of the LORD is your strength." God Bless You. Love-in-Christ, Apostle Joni A.
